How to Book Your Field Day
Once you have successfully passed your online Hunter Exam, you must register for a field day with the Iowa DNR.
You can book your field day online at www.iowadnr.gov.
You must bring a copy of your Field Day Voucher and a piece of valid ID to your Field Day.
Children who do not have their own ID may have their parents or guardians show ID on their behalf.
To complete the hunter education requirements for Iowa, you must pass the online and Field Day portions of the hunter education course.
Please note that a hunter education field day voucher is valid for one year from date it is issued. To access the listing of the independent/internet hunter education online field day courses offered near your area, please go to http://www.iowadnr.gov/law/lawdb/viewcourse.html and choose your district or county and view course results.
Please note that safety education courses are not handled all year around. For example, the hunter education and the independent/internet hunter education courses are handled outside of the hunting seasons. Look for those classes to be held in the spring, summer and early fall. Classes are held by volunteer instructors. Please bookmark this page for future searches as the website can update at any time and feel free to also use www.iowadnr.gov/training to search for classes.
The training registration and tracking system website can allow you to sign up on the watch list for a one time automatic notification to be sent to you for the type of course you would like to be notified of. Please enjoy the great outdoors and recreate safely in Iowa!
